Installing clean energy systems in the home is a popular trend these days as more Americans choose solar and wind power to save on their electric bills. The growing trend can partly be attributed to the incredible tax breaks and other incentives that are currently being offered.
Perhaps one of the most well known tax credit it the energy star tax credit. This credit offers a direct reduction of your tax bill, dollar for dollar up to 30% of the cost of your system. This tax credit is being offered until 2015 so there is still time to act. There are other tax benefits that are available through each state. Check your state for details.
Now, more than ever, solar and wind power systems are more affordable than ever. This is possible because of all the tax breaks that are being offered to offset the high cost of installing a system.
If you are interested in installing a system, the first question that you should ask is how much energy you would like to produce. Examine you previous electric bills to get an idea of how much power you consume. From here, take a look at cost and determine whether you would like to supplement or completely eliminate your electric bill. While completely eliminating you electric bill sounds great, it can also be very expensive to install such a system.
