As AT&T expands their U verse service, many cable customers are left wondering how the service works, the price difference and the benefits of switching. Healthy Financial Habits is here to give you the latest when it comes to cable, internet and phone service.
The first question that many people ask is how does the Uverse system work. With the U-verse system, your phone and cable line transmits a signal to a central box in your home. This box is responsible for providing phone, internet, and cable service. It sends a streaming video feed to your tv receivers and a phone signal to your phones. It also has a built in router that delivers a wireless internet signal to your laptop or other wifi devices.
As for price, U-verse and time Warner stay fairly competitive. U-verse is currently offering incredible cash back deals and no contact to sign if you are willing to transfer services. These cash back deals have been reported to be in the $300 range. The post introductory rates are similar and in many cases slightly cheaper with Uverse.
As a new U-verse customer, I would say that the service appears to be just as good as cable. Quality appears to slightly clearer than cable.
Overall, Uverse is giving the cable company a bit of competition. At&t is offering a great service that competes very closely with Time Warner.
